This family fun day benefits individuals with Down syndrome through the Trisomy 21 Program at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Team Captain Information

Organizing your Team — IT’S EASY!

• Set Up Your Team’s Web Page

  If you were a team captain last year and have already established a team web page on Active.com, it will be easy to create a new page for the 2007 Buddy Walk. Simply login to Active.com using the instructions provided on the Setting Up Your Team’s Web Page instructions. You’ll find that some of your information, contacts, etc. from last year are carried over, saving you time and effort.

  If you are building a NEW TEAM, you will need to create an account on Active.com. Follow the Setting Up Your Team’s Web Page instructions. Then personalize your team’s website with fun colors, pictures, stories, and even a metered goal bar!
  

• Invite Your Friends and Family to Participate

  You will be able to email your family and friends right from your team’s website and invite them to register as part of your team. From your team’s web page, they will be able to join your team, register for the event, and donate to help with your fundraising goal. Ask your friends to tell their other friends about the event — excitement is contagious! Teams raising $500 or more will be listed on the Buddy Walk t-shirt (donations must be received by CHOP by September 10, 2007 to be included on the shirt).

• Request That Donations Be Made Online

  We encourage everyone to register and donate online whenever possible. It is quick, easy, and SECURE. They get an automatic response and tax receipt, and you are immediately notified of their participation.

  For those who must register or donate on paper, you can download registration forms here or download the Team Captain's packet located below. Collect all registrations and donations, each marked with your team name, and return them by September 10, 2007 to:

Buddy Button FAQs

How do I order?

Ordering for the 2007 Buddy Buttons is now closed. Thanks to all who ordered their Butons!

How much time do I have to order ?

Deadline for photo submissions is September 21st. Please don't delay!.

How large can the Photos be?

Hopefully not too large. Since the Buttons are 2 1/4 inches in diameter, you can resize the image using an image editing program to ensure a quicker upload and perfect fit on the Button. Or send the image "as is" and we will do the resizing and cropping for you.

How do I get my Buttons?

We will have your Buttons available for pickup the day of the event at the Buddy Button table located just inside the main entrance.

Who makes the Buttons?

This year the kind folks at Temple's Residential Organization for Community Service (ROCS) will be making the buttons for us.

2006 Buddy Walk

Thank You for a Fantastic 2006 Buddy Walk!

Not only did we have a wonderful turnout for our 5th Annual Buddy Walk for the Trisomy 21 Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia . . .

THE SUN ALWAYS SHINES ON OUR BUDDIES!

Preliminary numbers indicate we surpassed our fundraising goal !! Enjoy some fun photos, and be sure to check back soon for final totals from this year's event!

Many thanks to all who sponsored, participated and volunteered to make it a spectacular event. A special thanks to the staffs at both The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Villanova University for all their efforts in planning and orchestrating BW 2006. All were entertained by Jay Jay the Jet Plane® and Noddy® (of PBS Sprout), and a special thanks to Vince DeMentri of NBC10 and Don Tollefson for making the day extra special.

All proceeds benefit the Trisomy 21 Program at CHOP. With previous Buddy Walk donations of greater than $1 million, 300 patients with Trisomy 21 are being seen and treated, research has begun, new parent information and resources are provided, and a new Developmental Pediatrician Fellow was recently added to the staff. The center is growing quickly with 10 new patients every month.

We look forward to the upcoming year and the 3rd Annual Trisomy 21 Educational Symposium at CHOP on Saturday, March 3, 2007 (mark those calendars!!)
