Tri 21 is a non-profit organization located in Newark, New Jersey that encourages teens and young adults to wait until they are 21 to drink alcohol. Being a teenager can be a confusing time. Your hormones are active, you are finding out who you are, and you want to fit in with your friends. Shy people may try drinking alcohol and find that it gives them more courage. Popular people may have huge parties with a ton of beer and enjoy the approval that comes with that. But at Tri 21, we are dedicated to providing teens with a healthy environment that will help them to wait until they are 21 to drink.

At our center, teens can enjoy our library, which contains popular novels like Divergent by Veronica Roth and Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. We have a book club that meets once a month. Teens can also enjoy making art or crafts in our art room. We have art classes that meet every other week. We also have a music room where teens can enjoy playing music, music lessons, tutors, and many social events. Our goal is to provide teens with fun activities and ways to occupy their time that don’t include drinking or using drugs.
